Zeitform
Eine Bildbeschreibung wird immer in Präsens geschrieben!
Egal wie alt das Bild ist, sollte also die Beschreibung immer so gestaltet werden, als ob die Ereignisse jetzt stattfinden.
Für generelle Beschreibungen wird simple present verwendet: („In the foreground of the picture, there is a tall man…“)
Aber mit present progressive werden die Tätigkeiten beschrieben, die gerade auf dem Bild im Gange sind:
(„The man on the left is looking over his shoulder at the woman who is walking towards him…”)
Beispiel für die Verwendung des Präsens (Present tense und Present Progessive):
„In the painting we see a young woman with pale skin and brown hair wearing a bluish cloth. The woman sits with her child who also has pale skin. The child does not have any clothes on and the child is holding a yarnwinder formed as a cross. In the background there is a landscape with grey mountains and woods coloured dark-green and brown. The sky is clear, blue and white...”
